Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight - Alexandra Fuller
I loved this book. If you don't enjoy disfunctional family memoirs stay away from this one and if you have a problem with someone writing about racism in a casual tone also stay away. I noticed alot of reviews had issues with this part of the author's story but honestly when a person writes about their life it has to be warts and all. Alexandra Fuller grew up in Africa during a time when Whites had been in charge for a very long time and things where changing-not a very comfortable prospect for people on either side of the equation. If you are looking for an apology for colonialism you will not find it here-if you are looking for a rollickingly great read about a white ex-pat girl growing up in africa I can't recommend this highly enough.
