Ruby: A Novel - Cynthia Bond

Dark and beautiful and harrowing.  More than once I found myself holding my breath as I read passages.

 

 

This book was absolutely amazing but if you have issues with abuse and dark subject matter this may not be the book for you.  Horrible things happen in the world and while the book was ultimately uplifting it took some dark turns getting there.  For me it was very much worth the trip but your results may vary.
